From Our Kitchen: More Than a Meal

Food is more than nourishment. It is connection, tradition, dignity, and love.

Some of our most cherished memories are made around a kitchen table. It's where families gather, stories are shared, traditions are passed from one generation to the next, and neighbors become friends. A simple meal can bring comfort during difficult times and remind us that we belong to something greater than ourselves.

At Camp Street Community Ministries, we believe everyone deserves not only access to food, but access to nutritious food that supports healthy families and thriving communities.

Since 1985, when Mrs. Mamie Catlin began serving families in Providence, our ministry has been rooted in a simple conviction:

When we feed our neighbors, we strengthen our community.

A Legacy Worth Sharing

Through From Our Kitchen, we are opening another door into the heart of Camp Street Community Ministries.

Drawing inspiration from our community cookbook, we will share cherished recipes, family food traditions, seasonal favorites, and reflections on the role food plays in our lives.

But this space is about more than recipes.

We'll also explore the challenges of food insecurity, the importance of healthy food access, and the ways individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations can work together to ensure that no neighbor is forgotten.

Pull Up a Chair

Whether you're looking for a comforting recipe, learning about food insecurity, or searching for a meaningful way to give back, there's a place for you at our table.

We invite you to cook with us, learn with us, share your stories, and help us continue a legacy of compassion that began more than 40 years ago.

Because a meal can feed a person, but a caring community can nourish generations.
